Un Beso (2011) by Tamara Diaz. This is part of the Recycled Art Project and this one in particular is dedicated to a lover who had forgotten her earring at my house. Each day I would send her love art with her earring.
Abundance (2011) by Tamara Diaz (30×40) Acrylic Paint on Canvas. For the first time in a while, I felt so abundant, with love from friends/family and with helping others. For the first time, I felt financially stable and that allowed me to help others even more. But simultaneously, I separated from a partner and had to make an abuse report for a seven year old client. Hearing/feeling the pain, alcoholism and suffering all around me caused me to examine the abundance of those things too.

Corazon Espinado (2011) by Tamara Diaz. Acrylic Paint on Paper
Mi Familia (March 2011) This is a drawing of my family done in an art therapy session with a child who was working on their family portrait. In this piece, a few symbols are used; such as my Papi holding his Virgencita (La Caridad Del Cobre) necklace that he lost in Barcelona. Abuela is holding the Cuban flag and I am holding my paint brush.
“Alcoholism” (January 2011) This is a sad piece which was created in an art therapy session. The child was also working through themes of how Alcoholism effects their life. Alcoholism is a disease that affects so many people, and often, people are suffering in silence and loved ones may have feelings of hopelessness.

Untitled (2011) Acrylic paint on canvas paper
By Tamara Diaz (2011) This is part of the colored pencil series done in Art Therapy sessions with my clients. While the child/teen works on their image, I challenging myself to work on similar (emotional) themes. Mostly I seem to re-create myself through self-portraits.
“Only Room For Love” by Tamara Diaz (2011) This is a mixed media piece which is part of the Recycled Art Project, which spans over years. The project entails a collection of packaging from regularly used items which could otherwise be garbage. While working on other pieces, I use the left over paint from my brushes to create the backgrounds of the pieces, with the paint which would otherwise be thrown out. This is an important process on many levels as it allows me to get dirty and it is an experimental process. The last step is to use words to communicate feelings, whether they are about love, passion, wishes or heartbreak.
